I have been asked these questions numerous times and here are a few of my answers.
Are Essential oils for me?
The answer is Yes.
They are in most cases a supplement if you are under a medical professional's care. Finding the right blend that you may help with pain, anxiety etc., to make you feel better mentally and physically.
Most people have a favorite smell that they still remember from childhood that made them happy and can bring back memories.
Our blends are from recipes that go back in time whether it is decades or longer. Aromatherapy has a history going back centuries for many ailments.
Can Essential oils be taken internally? Yes, but it should be under medical guidance. We at BT's Essential Oils Aromatherapy, do not practice the internal use of essential oils.
Our practice is topical application or diffusion. Topical blends are always mixed with a carrier oil. Jojoba, Fractionated Coconut, etc., are 100% pure, as the same with essential oils we use, are only100% pure.
Can Essential oils be used on children? Yes, but, it depends on the age of the child. Most oils are not safe for children under 7 years.
Can pregnant women or those planning to get pregnant or are breastfeeding use essential oils? Simple answer No, it is not recommended to use, and should check with their medical professional for advice.
What about animals? Yes and No. This is not much different then what you can and cannot give dogs or cats as treats.
We do not practice blends for any pets at this time. There are aroma therapists that do practice this, but we do not.
